Overview of role:



Our Client is recruiting for a Credit Controller with a firm but fair approach.

You could be based in one of their 2 locations, in Strabane, County Tyrone, or in Lisburn, County Antrim, with the added possibility of working from home up to 2 days per week.

Ideally you are an excellent communicator and can effectively negotiate repayment plans with customers.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Monitor levels of outstanding debt including the chasing of high volumes of payments via phone, e-mail, and letter
  • Proactively highlight concerns/potential problem accounts
  • Monitor the debt of key accounts that are critical to the business
  • Ensure targets set for the credit control team are being reached
  • Process Direct Debit mandates
  • Deal with customer queries effectively and efficiently liaising internally and externally to resolve any issues
  • Minimize debtor balances and debtor days
  • Arrange new account setups with credit references and checks
  • Flag unsatisfactory accounts with the credit control manager.
  • Processing of EDI files weekly
  • Processing of bank bacs payments to Sage daily and reconciled weekly/monthly
  • Daily post cheques processed to Sage




  • A minimum of 1 Year of Credit Control Experience dealing with high-volume transactions
  • Strong administration and IT Skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong analytic and numeric skills
  • Ability to prioritize your workload and demonstrate flexibility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Persistence and tenacity, assertiveness without being aggressive
  • Ability to build relationships with clients as well as the wider Credit Control Team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Experience using Excel/Sage would be advantageous
  • A qualification in Credit Control would be desirable


On Offer:


  • Salary £22k – £25k
  • Hours of Work Monday to Thursday – 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm
