Technical Support Engineer – Water Technologies

Overview of role:
Providing technical support as required to customers and colleagues.Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer for our client based in North Kildare, a market leader in the Water and Wastewater Technologies industry.
This is a client facing role working within the Service Department. You will need to work efficiently and effectively and to take ownership, accountability and responsibility for the function and to seek direction / approval from management where required.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to external customers, S&C Engineers and internal teams as required by the Service Operations Manager
- Identify spare parts and consumables for the Service Business Team and customers and assist in the generation of 5 year plans for customers
- Compilation of technical documentation as required
- Review and cataloguing of water sample results for all customers
- Continuous review and logging of tickets and closing out issues in a prompt timely manner
Technical & Commercial Site Reviews:
- Conduct customer site audits when required to proactively target and capture commercial opportunities to expand the Installed Base across the PQMC client base and the Ireland Customer Base
- Identify opportunities for additional revenue including site efficiency measures and audits to generate site reports for further discussion with the clients
- Support with Quotation Order Forms (QOF’s) from the Service Engineers
Documentation Control:
- Provide the technical data required in the preparation of customer service contracts by way of assisting in the completion of 5 year plans
- Compilation of service request forms as required
- Compilation of risk assessments and method statements for customers
- Generate Calibration Certificates resulting from Service Reports
- In conjunction with the Senior Technical Services Executive, organise Technical Service Manuals to coincide with the release of new products or changes to current products
- Hubgrade monitoring and review, liaising with customers and compilation of reports
- Assist in compiling tenders for the laboratory industry
General:
- Prepare and issue proposals for site refurbishments in accordance with Engineering Department Procedures
- Assist with the management of mini projects handled through service
- Adhere to Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ISO Regulations
- Comply with Health & Safety obligations and regulations
- Safeguard and maintain relevant Company equipment
- Travel from time to time within Ireland and overseas
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to working hours in order to cope with urgent situations and an unexpected workload as well as a willingness to undertake the additional duties which may be required from time to time by the Company to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Service Department
Requirements:
- Candidates must hold a 3rd level qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Be experienced in planning / coordinating and meeting strict deadlines
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
- Have strong communication skills with a level of English, written and spoken
- Be a team player while holding the ability work on your own
- Be eligible to work full time in Ireland while holding the necessary documentation to enable you to travel abroad for work to EU and non EU countries in the performance of your duties
This is a full time permanent role, based in Co. Kildare with Hybrid working arrangements available.
The salary for this role is ranged at €40k to €42k plus benefits (Bonus, Life, Pension, Health, Laptop, Mobile)
